Whirlpool

Here I shall sing with righteous indignation
Sing of what has become your suffocation
And we’ll try to defeat this complication
You don’t know what you are anymore
You pray to yourself when your knees hit the floor
With what you knew there’s no longer a relation
And now you’re just like the Babylonian whore

You’re choking on a whirlpool that sucked you dry
To escape the vortex you told yourself a lie
Then hammered his hands and watched him die

Turned your back on what gave you animation
You then embarked on a covert operation
It seems as though you fell for imitation
Deep in the recesses of your heart’s inner core
There grew the parasite you claimed to abhor
Can you explain this regressive transformation
From A to B, from B to what you were before?

You’re choking on a whirlpool that sucked you dry
To escape the vortex you told yourself a lie
Then hammered his hands and watched him die

I can’t understand what caused this re-alteration
You must have used quicksand for foundation
And now you are defined by frustration
Home destroyed when the wave hit the shore
The treasure you had has become an eyesore
Fool’s gold and carbon scream of false salvation
Yet as ugly as you are, my mirror hates me more

We’re choking on a whirlpool that sucks us dry
To escape the vortex we told ourselves a lie
Then hammered his hands and watched him die

…for us… for us.
